the Farm

Simple Pleasures Farm is located on the grounds of Lake Allatoona Inn. The farm occasionally raises American Quarter Horses and Leonberger dogs.

Lynn Smith, one of the Inn's and farm's owners, has been involved with horses for over fifty years. She has done mostly Hunter Under Saddle riding. She has also had other experience with horses in other disciplines. Not only riding, but has driven them too.

The owner's daughter Wendy is also greatly involved with the farm. She has ridden, taken lessons, and shown horses throughout her life. She has been instructed through the years mostly in hunters but has also done some dressage, showmanship and team penning. Wendy has shown mostly American Quarter Horses and has done a few Quarter horse shows but mostly open shows, hunter shows, and as a child 4-H shows. She has ridden under and been trained by many Olympic riders, AQHA judges and trainers.

The horses that are owned by the farm are American Quarter Horses. Currently there are two mares. The first is a homebred mare named "Dancing in the Sky" who is a Cremello Appendix. She is the daughter of "Sky's Blue El Dorado", a huntseat bred mare, and a famous champion halter and performance Quarter horse stallion "Heat Max". The mare has many famous hunter and eventing horses in her pedigree including "Glitter Please" and "Sky's Blue Boy" as well as many performance and halter horses on her sire's side. Look for her as she grows up in the show pen. The second mare is a bright Chestnut all around bred mare named "Put a Bow on It". She was bred by Nancy Sue Ryan and is out of a champion "Hot and Blazing" daughter known as "Blazing her Way" and a huntseat champion stallion called "Trade Rumors" The farm also owns a rescue Miniature Donkey known as "Abraham"

The farm also hosts several Leonbeger dogs.  Leonbergers are a giant breed from Europe that are quickly becoming popular in the US.  They are bred only to be loving and are big swimmers. They seem to be the perfect dog for a lake front farm with lots of guests. The dogs on the farm are all shown and several are AKC Champions. Occassionally there is a litter of puppies and some become available to select homes.  If you would like more information regarding our Leonberger dogs then please visit our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LeonbergerdogsingeorgiaUSA1/
